Condom size and fit guide

Width, shape, length and thickness tell different parts of the story. Learn what the numbers mean, compare our six styles, and choose with a clearer understanding of your preferences.

What the measurements mean

Nominal width is the width of a condom measured flat and unstretched. It is not the condom’s diameter or a direct measurement of your body. Shape also matters: a contoured condom has different widths along its length.

01 / Width

Flat width is not circumference

A 53 mm label means the condom measures about 53 mm across when laid flat at the specified measuring point. It does not mean a 53 mm penis diameter. Body circumference is a measurement around the body; it is a different measurement.

Stretch, material and shape affect fit, so doubling a flat-width number does not give you a personal sizing recommendation.

02 / Shape

Room can vary along the length

A straight profile stays relatively even through its body. A contoured profile changes width. Apollo and Olympian are wider at the head and base, with a narrower middle. Poseidon also has a contour, with a different profile.

Read 56–52–56 mm as three points on one condom, rather than three available sizes.

03 / Length

A minimum length, not a body-size limit

The supplier lists a minimum unrolled length for each style: 170 mm for Adonis, 185 mm for Classic, Spartan XL and Poseidon, and 200 mm for Apollo and Olympian.

Those figures describe the product. They are not an exact length for every condom or a chart assigning a condom to a body size. Follow the package directions when unrolling to the base.

04 / Thickness

Wall thickness is separate from fit

Thickness describes the latex wall, not the space inside. Olympian’s target is 0.060 mm (60 microns); the other five styles target 0.070 mm (70 microns).

Olympian’s thinner target does not make it a narrower size. It shares Apollo’s width profile and minimum length.

Why are these target values and minimum lengths?

The supplier specifies width with a tolerance of ±2 mm and wall thickness with a tolerance of ±0.010 mm. For example, a 0.070 mm thickness target has a stated range of 0.060–0.080 mm; a 0.060 mm target has a range of 0.050–0.070 mm. The ranges overlap, so every individual Olympian is not guaranteed to be thinner than every Apollo.

“Minimum length” is the supplier’s lower length specification. It is different from an exact or maximum length. Lubricant quantities are the listed amounts per condom, not a measure of protection or a promise about how long lubrication will last.

Measurements come from supplier specification sheets received October 21, 2026. Greek Styles is preparing for launch; final production specifications and packaging remain subject to approval. Individual fit varies.

Classic’s 53 mm nominal width is our standard-fit reference. Adonis and Spartan XL also have straight profiles, at 49 mm and 58 mm respectively.

53 mm nominal width; the width varies along its contour.

Poseidon changes both shape and surface compared with Classic. Its ribs and dots describe texture; its contour describes the outline.

The same stated nominal width does not mean the same shape or the same fit at every point. Its 53 mm nominal width is a reference measurement; the contoured outline is a separate part of the fit.

How to compare fits

  1. Start with a product that already feels comfortable. Check its nominal width and shape on the manufacturer’s packaging or size guide. Compare those product measurements with the table above.
  2. Choose a width and shape before choosing texture. Adonis is our narrower straight option; Classic is the standard straight reference; Spartan XL is wider. Apollo and Olympian offer a shaped alternative with more room at the ends than in the middle.
  3. Separate fit from sensation preferences. Apollo and Olympian have the same profile. Olympian changes the target thickness and lubricant amount. Poseidon offers ribs and dots with a contoured profile.
  4. Check the directions and the fit during use. A condom should unroll to the base according to its instructions. If it will not unroll easily, FDA advises starting again with a new condom; it may be reversed, damaged or too old. Persistent difficulty, slipping or discomfort is a reason to reconsider the fit and seek guidance from a healthcare professional.

“Snug,” “standard,” “comfort” and “XL” describe choices within our range. Names and nominal widths do not guarantee an identical fit across brands. A larger number is not automatically a better choice.

Apollo or Olympian?

Apollo and Olympian share an hourglass contour: 56 mm at the head and base, with a narrower 52 mm middle. Apollo has a target wall thickness of 0.070 mm and 400 mg of silicone-based lubricant; Olympian has a thinner 0.060 mm target wall and 500 mg. Classic is straight-shaped at 53 mm; Poseidon has a 53 mm nominal width with a contoured shape, ribs and dots. Adonis is narrower at 49 mm, and Spartan XL is wider at 58 mm. These supplier specifications describe the products; they do not guarantee the same fit as another brand.

What about body measurements?

If you use a tape measure, follow the measuring instructions supplied by the condom manufacturer. A measurement around the erect penis is circumference, while the table above gives flat product widths. We do not use a universal conversion to assign you a size: material stretch and shape also affect the fit.

Lubrication, use and care

What the lubricant amounts mean

All six supplier sheets specify silicone-based lubricant. Olympian lists 500 mg per condom; the other styles list 400 mg. That is 100 mg more on Olympian, alongside its thinner target wall. The amount does not establish a better fit or greater protection.

For additional lubricant with latex condoms, CDC recommends water-based or silicone-based products. Oil-based products such as petroleum jelly, lotion and cooking oil can weaken latex. Follow the lubricant label and the final condom instructions.

Everyday essentials

  • Use one new condom for each act of sex, from start to finish. Never reuse a condom or use two at once.
  • Check the expiration date and packet condition. Open carefully; avoid teeth, fingernails and sharp objects.
  • Pinch air from the tip, unroll to the base, and hold the base during withdrawal. Follow the full directions supplied with the product.
  • If a condom breaks, stop immediately and replace it with a new one.
  • Store condoms in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid prolonged heat and friction, including storage in a wallet.

Caution: This product contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions. If you have a latex allergy, choose a suitable non-latex option with advice from a healthcare professional.

Correct, consistent condom use reduces the risks of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections; it does not eliminate them. Protection is more limited for infections spread through skin that a condom does not cover.

Read CDC’s illustrated condom-use instructions. This guide helps explain fit and specifications; follow the final product’s full directions and warnings.

Common fit questions

Does “XL” mean longer?

Our Spartan XL is wider at 58 mm. Its listed minimum length is 185 mm, the same as Classic’s minimum. In this collection, Apollo and Olympian have the longest listed minimum, at 200 mm. Width and length are separate.

Is Adonis just a shorter Classic?

It differs in both nominal width and minimum length: Adonis is 49 mm and at least 170 mm long; Classic is 53 mm and at least 185 mm long. Both have a smooth, straight profile and a 0.070 mm target thickness.

Is Olympian a smaller size than Apollo?

No. Both share the 56–52–56 mm contour and a 200 mm minimum length. Olympian has a thinner target wall and 500 mg of lubricant, compared with Apollo’s 400 mg.

Is Poseidon the same fit as Classic with texture added?

The supplier lists 53 mm nominal width for both, but Classic is straight-shaped and Poseidon is contoured. Poseidon also has ribs and dots. A shared nominal number does not describe the entire profile.

Does a thinner or thicker wall tell me how much protection I get?

Wall thickness by itself is not a rating of protection. Follow the final product labeling and use instructions. Fit, correct use, package condition, expiry and suitable lubrication all matter; we do not rank these styles by safety from thickness alone.

Are 3-packs, 12-packs and 24-packs different condom sizes?

Those numbers are the quantities in a box, not the condom’s dimensions. Compare the product style for fit. Planned pack formats are 3, 12 and 24; the first available combination may vary by style.
